Lake to Lake Paddle Challenge Returns Shenango River

SHARON, Pa. – The second annual Lake to Lake Paddle Challenge kicks off Aug. 26, when kayakers and canoers of all skill levels come together to experience the beautiful scenery along the Shenango River while indulging their passion for outdoor sports and compete for cash prizes of more than $5,000.

The event is a timed paddle challenge held on the class 1, Shenango River Water Trail. A post-challenge awards ceremony with food and refreshment vendors will take place at the Finish Line.  Competitors have the choice between two races:

  • The 30 Mile Challenge – Competitive Class
  • The 15 Mile Challenge – Adventure Class

The 30 Mile Challenge Competitive Class has three Singles Divisions and one Tandem Division. Prizes range from $500 to $200.  The race starts at 9:00 AM at Pymatuning State Park and finishes at the NorthStar Marina on the Shenango River Lake.

The 15 Mile Challenge has two divisions: Single and tandem adventure. The top ten overall finishers will receive a medal and $50. This race starts at 11:00 AM at the Kidd’s Mill Covered Bridge and also finishes at the NorthStar Marina.
