LaRocca Named ‘Club Executive of the Year’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Youngstown native Richard LaRocca, general manager of The Country Club of Orlando in Orlando, Fla. was named the 2017 Club Executive of the Year by Club Management magazine.
LaRocca attended Cardinal Mooney High School while working his first job as a caddy at the Youngstown Country Club. He later took a job with the club’s janitorial staff. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1984 and worked at Tippecanoe Country Club under Brian Schultz, who was general manager at the time.
LaRocca has managed country clubs since 1990, including Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley, Pa., and The Kirtland Country Club in Willoughby. He’s worked in Orlando for the last six years.
“Being named Executive of the Year by my peers is very special to me,” he says. “And equally as special is telling everyone my hometown is Youngstown, Ohio.”
LaRocca lives in Florida with his wife, Christine, and daughter Alexandria, a 2014 graduate of Kent State University. His brother Pat manages the Oakmont Country Club outside of Pittsburgh, and brother Joe, is chief operating officer of The Lake Club in Poland.
