Legal Creative Sets Free Clinics for Artists
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Legal Creative will hold two free legal clinics for creatives, both of which take place at the Main Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. The first clinic will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17, while the second is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 12.
During the clinics, art professionals and art organizations can schedule a half hour or one hour appointment to meet face-to-face with a volunteer attorney. The Legal Creative plans on having volunteer accountants available as well to consult on limited topics.
A limited number of appointments will be available, and all artists must preregister. Registration is free and open to all artists and arts organizations regardless of income, however, consultations are limited to topics relating to the running of an arts business, such as copyright law, trademark law, contract law, and general business formation. No walk-in appointments will be accepted.
Artists can preregister either online at the Legal Creative website or by emailing info@legalcreative.org. The Legal Creative will handle all aspects of the registration for this service, as well as securing the volunteer attorneys and accountants.
