Lego Model of Library to Take Shape Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Builders from Youngstown State University and the Steel City Users Group will use Legos to construct a scale model of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County’s Main Library inside the library, located at 305 Wick Ave., Saturday.

Reservations are not required for the event, which begins at 9 a.m..

Using more than 5,000 Lego pieces, the group will construct the library model over the course of the day. RJ Thompson, assistant professor of graphic and interactive design at YSU, along with Kent Kerr, adjunct professor of graphic design, will oversee the project.

Kids of all ages can help build the library, watch Lego videos, do free building activities and more. Legos will be provided. Treats for the library’s 135th anniversary will be provided while supplies last.
