Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre to Hold Benefit May 15
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre will host its Celebrate Life Dance Concert III at 4 p.m. May 15 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center.
The show features more than 40 dancers, musicians and visual artists performing in genres such as ballet, Afro-Caribbean, tap, hip hop and salsa. The Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre Orchestral Ensemble, led by Bill Beck and Rick Ward of The Ohio Players, will provide music.
Four tribute performances to “Legends in the Arts” Al Bright, Sophia Brooks, Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini and Kool & The Gang founders Kool Baynn and Khalis Bell are on the program. All are Youngstown natives.
Before the-show, VIP ticket holders will be accorded the opportunity to meet and greet the performers. The audience can attend a reception following the concert.. Proceeds from all ticket sales will fund scholarships to the 80 students enrolled in Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre.
