Locker 1 & 2 Golf Outing Raises $45K for United Way
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, two area business owners hosted a golf outing fundraiser for the organization.
Leo Henry, director of operations for The Muransky Companies, and Bob Conger, chief operating officer of Winkle Electric Co. Inc., co-hosted the Fifth Annual Leo and Conger Locker 1 and 2 Golf outing in June at The Lake Club in Poland. The event raised $45,832, which Henry and Conger presented to the United Way last month, according to a release.
“Leo Henry and Bob Conger stepped up in a big way this year. They knew it was our 100th Anniversary, and reached out to their friends and colleagues to make this a record breaking year.” said Bob Hannon, president of the United Way. “We are grateful for their continued support, and humbled by the outpouring this year.”
A sellout field of 36 teams participated in the event, according to a release. Henry and Conger have organized the event for the last four years, working to increase the annual donation each year while raising awareness of the United Way. At the inaugural outing in 2014, they raised $16,000, about a third of this year’s donation.
The money raised will be used for United Way’s Success After 6 program.
