Lordstown Motors Video Takes Viewers Inside Plant
LORDSTOWN, Ohio — Lordstown Motors Corp. released a video late Thursday that shows workers building the prototype of the startup company’s electric pickup truck that it has trademarked as The Endurance.
The video, shot inside the 6.2 million square-foot manufacturing plant LMC purchased from General Motors Co., is narrated by Lordstown Motors CEO Steve Burns and is entitled “Ride with Lordstown.”
“The engineering that separates the Endurance™ from other EV manufacturers is our hub motor system,” Burns relates. “Four individual batteries placed inside wheel wells power the driving experience, and an advanced system of computers and software optimizes every turn, stop, and lane change. The Endurance looks like a pickup and performs the same tasks pickup trucks always have: the difference is that the power source and engineering make it handle like a sports car.”
