Mancini Foundation to Hold Inaugural Bowl-A-Thon

STRUTHERS, Ohio – The inaugural Ellen Mancini Bowl-A-Thon, proceeds to benefit the Ray “Boom-Boom” Mancini Foundation, will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Holiday Bowl, 777 Youngstown-Poland Road.

A spokeswoman for the foundation, Maria Barth Meadors, made the announcement Tuesday.

The beneficiaries of the Mancini Foundation are all in the Mahoning Valley, whether nearby charities such as the Drop in the Bucket Foundation, which helps terminally ill patients, or individuals in great need of help. Past fundraisers by the foundation have benefitted The Purple Cat and Hope House visitation center.

During the bowl-a-thon, appetizers from Primanti Bros will be served, along with items from Giannios Candy Co. A Chinese auction and 50/50 drawing will be held.

Teams of four can enter by paying an entry fee of $60 – entrants are filling up fast, Meadors reported – and the team that rolls the best score for two games wins a $500 prize.

To enter or obtain more information, call Meadors at 330 559 8891 or email her at [email protected] or [email protected].
