MCCTC Adult Career Center to Host Open House
CANFIELD, Ohio – The Mahoning County Career & Technical Center’s Adult Career Center will host its Spring Campus Tour and Open House at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Those who are ready to graduate and those who have already graduated high school are welcome to attend.
“There is nothing like seeing our school live and in action,” said Jodi Glass, recruiting and marketing coordinator. “An open house event like this helps potential students decide if the Adult Career Center is the right fit for them.”
Visitors will be able to view Firefighter 1 students learning about fire behavior while conducting a live burn in the MCCTC Fire Tower.
Throughout the event, attendees can experience a live class. Welding, EMT and Medical Assistant classes are all in session. The Automotive Technology lab will be open for touring, and photography students will have their latest photos on display. Featured technical training programs starting in the fall are Welding, Automotive Technology, Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist, Firefighter I & II and EMT.
MCCTC’s financial aid coordinator, Mahoning and Columbiana Training Association and TRIO will all be on site to help students and parents learn more about FAFSA and other payment options.
Attendees can sign up to take an art class during the event. The make-and-take class, called Paint, Pour & Pick, is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Students will participate in canvas painting while enjoying refreshments and appetizers. The artwork features a red truck, American flag and spring flowers. The cost of the art class is $39, and advance registration is required.
Those wishing to register for the event or sign up for the art class can call the MCCTC Adult Career Center office at 330 729 4100.
