Mercer Food Bank Partners with Vincent New Beginnings
SHARON, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank is teaming up with Vincent New Beginnings to distribute food to those in need in the county.
The partnership will create the first food pantry in the area, which is considered a food desert, a news release states.
“We are honored to be working with Vincent New Beginnings,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “Having a distribution partner in part of the county deemed a food dessert is a huge win for both the community and those in need of access to nutritious food.”
Sign-ups for the food pantry will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 28 Walnut St., Jackson Center, Pa. For more information, residents can contact the church’s office at 724 981 0353, ext. 105.
The food pantry will have a grand opening celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. July 24. The public is encouraged to attend.
