Mercer JA Spotlights Community Members

SHARON, Pa. – Junior Achievement of Mercer County recently honored three of its local partners for their impact on the community.

Receiving awards at the organization’s annual chairman’s celebration were:

  • Kathryn Tiefenthal of St. John Paul II Elementary, educator of the year.
  • Brad Mantzell of Gilbert’s Risk Solutions, volunteer of the year.
  • Matt Ristvey of Ristvey Investment Group, community collaborator award.

“Junior Achievement’s partners allow us to impact the lives of our youth in Mercer and Lawrence counties,” said Bill Lucas, executive vice president for the Mercer JA. “This annual event showcases how our community can [help] thousands of our children and provide an educated and committed workforce.”

Sandi Carangi, president and CEO of Mercer County Community Federal Credit Union and chair of JA’s Mercer County board, said the award recipients are a part of what makes the region a special place.

“Katie, Brad and Matt are indicative of what makes our region a wonderful place to raise a family, receive an education, and start a career,” she said. “They are all fully committed to the prosperity of our youth and our region, and we are thankful.”

State Rep. Mark Longietti spoke at the event, which took place at Gilbert Risk Solutions.
