Mercer Tourism Agency to Give Away $5K Saturday

SHARON, Pa. — Mercer County’s official tourist promotion agency, VisitMercerCountyPA, will give away more than $5,000 Saturday through a new Facebook promotion.

The giveaway is open to non-residents of Mercer County, age 18 and older. The first 50 adults who secure a seat at a secret location in Mercer County will win $100 for use at participating member shops, dining and overnight stays in the Sharon area. The location will be revealed on the agency’s Facebook page Friday.

Purchases with Mercer County Tourism Bucks must be made Saturday.

The Sharon area campaign is the first of three social media events that the agency will run. The second will be in the Greenville area May 14 and the final event will occur in the Mercer/Grove City area June 11.

“This event will bring visitors to our area with the opportunity for the first 50 to win $100 to boost our local economy,” said Stacey Glenn, president of the VisitMercerCountyPA board of directors. “In addition we will generate increased exposure on the wonderful attractions, shops, dining and overnight stays in the Mercer County area.”

The agency also will give the next 50 non-winners a consolation prize of $10 in Mercer County Tourism Bucks and gifts from participating properties. To participate, individuals must present an ID showing they are adults who reside outside of Mercer County. Grove City, Thiel and Westminster college students are considered residents for this promotion.

Participating establishments include Brewtus Brewing Co., Buhl Mansion Guesthouse & Spa, Circle K Studio, Cravings Café & Creamy, Design by G!,  Daffin’s Candies,  Donna’s Diner, Gallery 29, Haitian Sensation, Reyers Shoe Store, Urban Barn, Warehouse Sales, The Winner, The Happy Eggplant Gourmet Food and Kitchen Shoppe, Krayaks, Philadelphia Candies, Stone Church Pizza House and Brew Pub, Webb Winery, Holiday Inn Express and Suites Sharon, O’Neill Coffee, Park Inn by Radisson Sharon, Super 8 West Middlesex, Tara — A Country Inn, Apple Castle, Julia’s Bed and Breakfast, and Pine Lakes Golf Course.
