Mercy Foundation Presents Visionary Awards Tomorrow

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mercy Health Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will host the 7th Annual Health Care Visionary Awards tomorrow at the Packard Museum in Warren.

This year’s Heart of the Mission award will be given to Sr. Margaret Ebin, retired Mercy Health clinician “who has been a key advocate and resource for the Humility of Mary Sisters and innovative in her vision as former director of ambulatory clinics,” the foundation said in announcing the awards.

The Mahoning Valley Leadership in Health Award will be given to Duane Piccirrilli, executive director of the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board, for his work in coordinating and fostering collaboration during the current opiate epidemic.

“These two individuals truly emphasize service before self, focusing on those most vulnerable in our Valley.” said Paul Homick, president of the foundation in a news release. “We are blessed that they chose our community to leave their footprint and build healthier families.”

The event will also recognize the 1911 Foundresses’ Circle, whose members support the programs the foundation provides. The group is named after the year St. Elizabeth Hospital opened its doors.
