Meridian HealthCare Chiropractic Physicians Obtain Acupuncture Licenses
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Michael J. Cafaro and Jeremy Dotson, chiropractic doctors at Meridian HealthCare, recently earned their acupuncture licenses, allowing Meridian locations to now offer this traditional form of Chinese medicine in addition to their chiropractic services.
“With doctors Cafaro and Dotson each receiving their acupuncture license, we are able to add another level of service for our patients. People come to us to help improve their overall health and by offering a wide range of services, we can support them and provide the care they need,” says Larry Moliterno, president and CEO of Meridian HealthCare.
Acupuncture is performed by inserting thin, sterilized needles into specific points in the body to alleviate pain, tension and more. It balances energy flow, or chi, throughout the body.
With these services in place, patients managing pain and other ailments, as well as those in Meridian’s addiction and recovery program, have a supplemental, holistic treatment option to ease their symptoms.
Cafaro and Dotson took a team approach when it came time to study.
“By joining forces through the curriculum, we were able to train at the same time,” says Cafaro. “Having our acupuncture licenses allows Dr. Dotson and myself to expand the amount of services we deliver to help our patients.”
Dotson echoes Cafaro’s sentiments.
“This allows us to not only serve current patients, but also the general population looking at an alternative way to manage aches and pains,” Dotson says.
Cafaro has been a chiropractic doctor for 19 years, while Dotson has been practicing for seven years. They are joined at Meridian by Dr. Christopher Clautti, who has more than 15 years of experience in chiropractic care and seven years of acupuncture care.
