Meridian HealthCare Expands Mental Health Services

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Seeing an increased need for mental health care related to anxiety, depression and other issues, Meridian HealthCare has expanded its mental health services.

As of April 10, services are now offered in Meridian’s Poland location at 2894 Center Road, in addition to its Boardman office at 8255 South Ave.

The statewide rate of depression is 22%, which puts Ohio above the national average of 20.5%, according to a recent report from the Health Policy Institute of Ohio. The same study found that 1 in 4 adults in Ohio reported they needed mental health treatment but did not receive it.

“At Meridian, we want to ensure that we have mental health services available to anyone who needs them in the community,” said Larry Moliterno, president and CEO of Meridian HealthCare. “We want the Valley to know we are here and look forward to doing what we can to ensure they get the help they need.”

Lucy Golden, a licensed clinical therapist, is leading Meridian’s mental health program. She has more than six years of experience in the addiction and mental health field.

“I’m looking forward to helping patients in this new role at Meridian,” Golden said. “We all have struggled with anxiety, depression, grief, big life changes or other traumas at some point in our lives, and I want others to know they are not alone. If more people can get help, it will really impact our community.”
