Moran to Kick Off Canfield Fair with Parachute Jump

CANFIELD, Ohio – Army veteran Fred Moran, owner of Window World Youngstown, will perform a tandem parachute jump into Canfield Fairgrounds as part of the opening ceremonies for the 2019 Canfield Fair.

The Canfield Fair Board and Window World Youngstown will honor veterans with the jump at 10 a.m. Aug. 29 near Gate F of the fairgrounds.

The jump will not only honor vets for their service, but bring attention to a new platform to meet hiring needs of both vets and Window World, he said in a statement.

“Veterans have the strongest work ethic I know with many of the skills that benefit our industry,” said Moran, who was stationed in Germany from 1957 to 1959.

Moran will tandem jump alongside Mike Elliott, president of the All Veterans Group, a group of parachute experts comprised of both active and retired military personnel. Elliott is a retired combat veteran from the United States Army. His service spanned over multiple combat units and culminated as a team leader in the U.S. Army parachute team, The Golden Knights.

The All Veterans Group team has jumped in the states and abroad. On three separate occasions, Elliott was entrusted with the life of President George H.W. Bush while performing tandem skydives.

Hosted by Montel Williams, Moran has also been selected to participate in the special edition of “Military Makeover, Operation Career – From Service to Startup: Franchise Solutions for Helping Our Heroes Transition in Business,” which will air in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The Moran Group Window World Youngstown is independently owned and operated by Fred and Pat Moran. The family operates six Window World locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan, making them one of the company’s largest franchisees.

Window World has also launched its new veteran hiring platform, Careers for Heroes, to hire military veterans and their family members. For more information, visit WindowWorldYoungstown.com
