Music Fills Downtown for City of You Festival
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The inaugural two-day City of You Festival kicks off tonight in downtown Youngstown with a performance by DJ E-V, followed by a concert Saturday by four-time Grammy winner Karen Clark-Sheard.
Admission for each day is $5. As part of Youngstown State University’s Y Day Friday campaign, admission Sept. 7 is free to anyone wearing YSU apparel. Tickets are available at the gates, which open at 6:30 p.m. both days.
Beyond the concerts, the City of You Festival will feature local food vendors both days and, on Saturday, a farmers market beginning at 2 p.m.
E-V – Eric Vajda – is a DJ from Cleveland who’s worked with Mike Posner and rapper Machine Gun Kelly. Clark-Sheard is a gospel singer, musician and songwriter from Detroit who began her career with The Clark Sisters. The group won four Grammy Awards, including three for their album “Live – One Last Time” in 2008.
