MVHS Open House to Feature 1916 Steel Strike Program

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Historical Society, in celebration of its 140th anniversary, will hold its February open house Feb. 20 at the Arms Family Museum.

Bill Lawson, MVHS executive director, will give a presentation at 1:30 p.m. on the iron and steel industry with a focus on the violent 1916 steel strike in East Youngstown.

The Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and college students, and $2 for children. The admission price includes a same day visit to the Tyler History Center downtown.

Guests Feb. 20 will receive buy-one-get-one-free admission courtesy of the Home Savings Charitable Foundation.
