Nominations Open for ’25 Under 35′ Awards

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nominations are now being accepted for the 2016 “25 Under 35” awards presented by the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.

The 25 Under 35 Awards, previously known as the 40 Under 40 Awards, is in its third year and honors the Mahoning Valley’s best and brightest young professionals. Each honoree will be recognized at an awards ceremony Feb. 11, 2016, at Stambaugh Auditorium.

Three honorees will be distinguished for special accolades as MVP Award winners. The 25 honorees and MVPs are selected by a committee formed by the Community Foundation. The selections are based upon professional and service categories.

“The 25 under 35 awards ceremony is the most anticipated event for the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals,” says Josh Hiznay, president of the club. ”

“We are delighted to once again to be a part of this important event,” said Shari Harrell, president of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. “Now in our 11th year of sponsorship, we look forward to highlighting the accomplishments of our Valley’s young professionals who continue to be the driving force in creating a vibrant community.”

Proceeds from the event benefit the Young Philanthropist Fund, which introduces philanthropy to younger generations through fundraising, analysis of grant applications, site visits to nonprofits and recommendations of grant awards from the fund, Harrell noted.

Nominees must be between the ages of 21 and 35 and may not exceed 35 years of age on Aug. 3. They must live and/or work primarily in Columbiana, Mahoning or Trumbull County.
