OCCHA Hosts Annual Fundraiser Gala Oct. 29

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Organización Cívica y Cultural Hispana America will host its annual fundraising gala Oct. 29 at The Maronite Center in Austintown.

The gala begins at  6 p.m. and includes dinner, live music, dancing and items up for auction.

Serving as emcees for this year’s gala are WKBN reporter Jennifer Rodriguez and Berkshire Hathaway Realty Group agent Shay Gonzalez. The keynote speaker is pulmonologist Dr. Manual Bautista from Mercy Health.

Tickets for the gala are $50 per person and can be purchased at. OCCHA.square.site. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Due to the coronavirus, seating will be limited and reservations are required.

OCCHA is a nonprofit organization working to improve the quality of life for Hispanic people in the Mahoning Valley through social, economic, cultural and educational programs.

This year’s Gala Committee members are Grimilda Ocasio-Santiago (chair) Benito Velázquez, Jr. (co-chair) Olga Rivera, Virginia Krall, Bonnie Zoldak, Gladys Morales, Grimilda Ocasio, Paulina Montaldo, Iris Crespo, Atty. Miriam Ocasio, Lou Rivera and Manuel Santiago. The organization’s director is Angelica Diaz, while Fourth Ward Councilman Mike Ray serves as board president.
