Oh Wow Seeks New Executive Director

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As it moves into a new phase of its evolution, the Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology is seeking a new executive director.

Applications for the position, along with a job description, are available at OhWowKids.org. Resumes can be submitted to [email protected]

“Oh Wow was successful in transitioning during COVID-19 because of the leadership team we have in place currently.  It’s essential that we build on the successes of the past 18 months by thinking through how our community’s needs may evolve in the future and how Oh Wow can most intentionally and effectively meet those needs,” said Chuck George, chairman of Oh Wow’s board of directors. “We’re thrilled that Suzanne has accepted the challenge of helping us prepare for our 100th birthday.”

Suzanne Barbati, the museum’s current president and director, will transition to director of planned giving, she said in a statement. Her move comes with the organization’s long-term plans – looking at the museum’s next 90 years – in mind.

“I have been excited and humbled by our community’s response to Oh Wow and the part I’ve been able to play in helping Oh Wow become successful since our opening in 2011,” she said. “As we look toward our future and our 100th birthday, it’s important that we continue to grow.”
