Ohio Jobless Claims In Slight Decline
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The state reported a slight dip in new unemployment claims last week.
Ohioans filed 9,119 initial claims Dec. 5 to 11, which is 183 fewer than the previous week, according to the state job and family services department.
In the same time period, Ohioans filed 40,127 continued unemployment claims, which is 670 less than the previous week, the department reported.
Ohio’s unemployment rate in October was 5.1%, which eclipsed the national rate of 4.6%.
The state’s labor force participation rate for October was 61.2%, while the national rate was 61.6%.
