Ohio Living Park Vista Receives Five-Star Rating

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Ohio Living Park Vista has achieved a five-star overall rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on the Nursing Home Compare Provider Rating Report.

CMS is a federal agency that evaluates nursing homes on both the state and national level.

Several factors that go into this rating including health inspection, quality measures, and staffing. Quality measures are based on 16 of 24 areas of care.

“This is a way for people to evaluate and compare one nursing home to another. It’s a tool to grade the quality of care and staffing a nursing home provides,” said Lori Ference, Ohio Living Park Vista administrator. “We’re constantly engaging and empowering our staff with training and resources. We’re being pro-active and looking for potential problem areas and correcting them now.”

Ohio Living Park Vista has “worked diligently” to increase this overall rating for the past two years. Ference said. With over 900 nursing homes in the state of Ohio, CMS only allots 10% of those homes to have a five-star rating. Ohio Living Park Vista now ranks in the top 10% of nursing homes in the state.
