Ohio Weekly Unemployment Claims Climb
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohioans filed 15,750 initial traditional unemployment claims last week, which was 938 more than the previous week, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported Thursday.
State residents also filed 56,926 continued traditional unemployment claims the week of March 19-25, which was 178 fewer than the previous week.
Of the initial unemployment claims filed, 3,283 have been flagged for more stringent identity verification to ensure they are not fraudulent.
In February, Ohio’s unemployment rate was 3.9%. The national unemployment rate was 3.6%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in February was 61.4%. The national labor force participation rate was 62.5%.
