Ohio Weekly Unemployment Claims Drop
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohioans filed 11,262 initial traditional unemployment claims last week, which was 1,815 fewer than the previous week, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported Thursday morning.
State residents also filed 46,549 continued traditional unemployment claims the week of Dec. 11-17, which was 3,770 more than the previous week.
Of the initial unemployment claims filed, 2,067 have been flagged for more stringent identity verification to ensure they are not fraudulent.
In November, Ohio’s unemployment rate was 4.2%. The national unemployment rate was 3.7%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in November was 61.3%. The national labor force participation rate was 62.1%.
