Ohio’s TechCred Funded 398 Employers in November
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced Monday that 398 employers were approved for funding through Ohio’s TechCred program in November 2023.
The funding will provide the opportunity for Ohioans to earn 5,925 tech-focused credentials, the most approved in a single funding round, said Husted, who serves as director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. The previous high was 5,289 credentials in September 2023.
“If you want to advance your career skills and improve your job security and earning power, TechCred is a no-cost solution for any Ohioan to advance their career,” Husted said. “It also is a great tool to give Ohio employers the ability to build the best workforce in the nation.”
TechCred helps businesses address their workforce needs by funding training opportunities to upskill current or prospective employees. Businesses of all sizes from any industry are eligible to receive up to $30,000 per application period and up to $180,000 per year in reimbursement when credentials are earned.
Artificial intelligence credentials were one of the top credentials requested during this round.
This latest round marks the 23nd application period of the program. The current application period for businesses opened Jan. 2 and will close at 3 p.m. Jan. 31. Employers can apply HERE.
