Panerathon Raises $515K for Joanie Abdu Center

Panerathon Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Concert

WARREN, Ohio – The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre will host a community concert by The Fabulous Flashbacks at Aug. 23 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Panerathon.

“The panerathon at its core is a celebration of all that is good about our community,” said Allen Ryan, director of corporate affairs for Covelli Enterprises. “For our 10th anniversary, we wanted to do something additional to say thank you to the community, who has made panerathon the largest fundraising event in the Valley.”

Covelli, the primary sponsor of Panerathon, is organizing the concert in conjunction with JAC Live, which manages the amphitheatre.

Beginning at 8 p.m., the concert will kick off Panerathon weekend downtown. Participants will be offered a special promotional code upon registering for the 10K and two-mile walk/run for $10 discounted concert tickets. General admission concert tickets may be purchased for $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Tickets are available at TheYoungstownFoundationAmp.com.

The Youngtown-based Fabulous Flashbacks is comprised of Nick Gligor on Greg Yochman on bass, Brian Wingrove on keys and guitar and Brian McCall on guitar and vocals. Since 1983, the band has been performing a collection of classic rock ‘n’ roll songs, primarily from 1962 to 1972.

The Panerathon 10K and two-mile walk/run will be held Aug. 25 at the Covelli Centre. It is the largest community fundraising event in the Mahoning Valley, hosting more than 12,000 participants and spectators in 2018.

Since its inaugural year in 2010, the Panerathon has raised $2.5 million for the Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley to help keep the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center accessible to all.

Covelli Enterprises operates 315 Panera Bread bakery-cafes in eight states. Headquartered in Warren, Covelli Enterprises is the single largest franchisee of Panera Bread, LLC.
