Park Vista Holds 46th Annual Apple Butter Festival Friday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Ohio Living Park Vista will host its 46th Annual Apple Butter Festival on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Annual Trash & Treasure sale will also take place during this time in the gathering room.
Fresh apple butter will be made on site with help from staff and volunteers. Locally made apple butter will be available for purchase as well. Jars are on sale $2 for a half pint and $4 for a pint.
All proceeds from the festival go to Ohio Living Life Care which allows for those who outlive their funds to continue their care at Ohio Living Park Vista.
In addition to apple butter, there will be a variety of food vendors and food trucks, as well as lemon shakes, kettle corn and apple dumplings.
The festival will feature a variety of entertainment including a magician/juggler, balloon artist, stilt walker, giant lawn games like Jenga, Kerplunk, lawn dice, cornhole and a dunk booth. Funds from the dunk booth will go to the Alzheimer’s Association as a group of Ohio Living Park Vista employees are participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in October.
There will be musical entertainment including Eric Knoltkamper, an accordion player; One String Short; and Take 2 Band.
The Apple Butter Festival began in 1972 and was headed by Helen Stambaugh, the first Ohio Living Park Vista administrator at the current location on Fifth Avenue.
