Penn State Extension to Offer Webinar on Enhancing Retail Farm Markets

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Extension will host a webinar to share practical strategies and lessons from the 2024 Retail Farm Market Bus Tour, designed to help participants enhance market appeal and achieve success in the agricultural retail sector.

The “Tips from the Road: Retail Farm Market Bus Tour Highlights” webinar, which will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. July 11 and Aug. 6, is intended for farm market and agritourism owners and managers; farm and food business owners; retail food business owners and managers; and value-added food producers.

Penn State Extension’s business, entrepreneurship and economic development team will lead the webinar, focusing on strategies for boosting profitability through merchandising techniques, customer engagement tactics and product selection.

Presenters also will explore innovative approaches to integrate and enrich agritourism experiences within retail farm market operations, which can foster stronger customer connections, increase foot traffic and elevate the market’s overall appeal.
