PIA Open House Showcases High Demand Careers

VIENNA, Ohio – Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics will host a public open house at 11 a.m. on Saturday at its campus at the Youngstown-Warren Regioinal Airport.

Representatives from Constant Aviation will be on hand to discuss with prospective students the big job demand for aviation technicians. Constant Aviation specializes in air-frame maintenance and engine maintenance, major repairs and avionics. It operates at airports in Cleveland, Orlando, Fla., Phoenix and Las Vegas.

Attendees will tour PIA’s classrooms and hangar, learn about 16 and 21-month programs, view interactive demonstrations, meet faculty and students and learn about career opportunities.

“Our open house gives PIA the opportunity to deliver critical information about career demand,” said Suzanne Markle, president and CEO of PIA.

According to PIA, 94% of eligible graduates from its Youngstown campus are working in the aviation industry or in a field using their PIA education. The average graduate’a salary exceeds $37,797. While PIA cannot guarantee employment, graduates do receive placement assistance, Markle notes

Companies that employ the school’s graduates, she notes, include Constant Aviation, Piedmont, Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services, PSA Airlines and Flight Options .
