Premier Bank Donates $20,000 to American Cancer Society

CANFIELD, Ohio – Premier Bank donated $20,000 to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society to support a pair of golf outings.

Of the donation, $15,000 is going toward the fundraising goal for the 2021 Tri-County Golf Classic and $5,000 to the Ladies Pink Ribbon Golf Classic. The Tri-County Classic will be held Aug. 23 at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield. The Pink Ribbon Classic was held Monday.

“The donations received will be going to benefit research programs, patient programs and support within the community,” said Kelly Sobotka, development director for the Cancer Society chapter. “Hopefully ones day we can say no one has to hear the diagnosis that their family member, friend or colleague has been touched by this terrible disease.

Frank Hierro, Premier’s Mahoning Valley regional president, said the bank is always willing to support the American Cancer Society.

“We’ve been doing this for many years and we’re so pleased with the terrific work the American Cancer Society does and the volunteers that make this even possible,” he said.

The honoree for this year’s Tri-County Classic is Todd Bury, a cancer survivor, founder of Todd Bury Financial Group and friend of Hierro’s.

“He’s a young man in the prime of his life. When you look at what cancer research was able to do to speed his recovery and return him to full health is amazing,” Hierro said.
