Prima Healthcare Now Part of Mercy Health

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Prima Healthcare today officially became part of Mercy Health-Youngstown.

As Prima integrates into the Mercy Health, patients will experience optimized, coordination of care, enhanced communication and experience across all Mercy Health and former Prima points of care, the health care company said in a release.

Mercy is the largest provider of health care in the Mahoning Valley. Prima cares for patients in Mahoning and Columbiana counties through its offices in Boardman, Columbiana and Salem.

Donald Kline, chief executive officer of Mercy Health-Youngstown, said that the expansion of Mercy’s primary care network, allows the hospital to provide care right where people need it most: close to home.

“The meaningful impact this affiliation has for the communities we both serve, continues to deliver on our promise of making health care easier,” said Donald Kline, CEO of Mercy Health Youngstown. “Because we both share a commitment to caring for the Valley, we are able to improve the access to health care into neighborhoods where people are able to stay and heal close to home.”

Dr. Steven DeMaiolo, founder of Prima Healthcare, said the affiliation with Mercy Health enables its providers to make an even bigger impact in the Valley.

“Both Mercy Health and Prima Healthcare have long been considered leaders in the regional health care space combining the best of both organizations will allow us to collectively deliver the highest level of care to our patients and the communities that we serve,” DeMaiolo said.
