Rose Point Park Receives ‘Most Creative Activity’ Award

New Castle, Pa. – Rose Point Park Cabins & Camping was presented the Most Creative Activity award from the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association at an annual convention held in State College, Pa. in December.

Its program entry which took home the gold was its Wizards, Fairies and Trolls Weekend that took place in August of 2017.

The activities from the weekend are scheduled to run again this summer during the weekend of June 15 through 17 at the park, its Owner Debby Yeager said.

The Wizards, Fairies and Trolls Weekend activities included an enchanted forest complete with 15 fairy houses made of leaves, sticks, bark and stones nestled into crooks and tree trunks.

Children participated in activities that included a “Potions Class” of making “goop”,  “gack” and “slime”, all made with household ingredients of cornstarch, borax, glue and water.

They then explored the fairy houses and each child launched a “wish boat” made of a candle on a piece of bark into the stream.

The weekend ended with a performance by fire dancers.

“It truly was a magical event for campers of all ages,” Yeager said.

Rose Point Park Cabins and Camping in New Castle has been a family camping site since 1970, offering a variety of sites from tents, RVs, cabins, and yurts, or a Mongolian-styled tent.
