Salem Regional Offers Walk-in Mammograms, Fundraiser in October

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – As part of breast cancer awareness month in October, Salem Regional Medical Center and its foundation will host a series of events at Firestone Farms TownCenter.

Throughout the month, women who get mammograms at the Salem Regional office will be able to register for a raffle, with the winner taking home a pink-themed gift basket.

The Salem Regional imaging center at Firestone Farms is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Extra hours will also be held Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointments or physician orders are necessary and financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

On Oct. 16 as well, the Salem Regional Medical Center Foundation will host the Pink Out at the Farm fundraiser, with proceeds supporting the foundation’s cancer fund.

“We’re excited to partner with Firestone Farms in support of breast cancer awareness month to raise funds for our world-class cancer care services at SRMC,” said Amy Reed, Salem Regional’s director of development, in a statement. “Members of the community are invited to come out and visit participating Firestone Farms businesses for a variety of special promotions and activities throughout the afternoon and evening.”

Among the activities at the event are specialty food and drinks, live music, a children’s chalk art contest, a fashion show featuring breast cancer survivors and a lighting of luminaries.

Through Oct. 8, people can sponsor luminaries to honor loved ones at the event. Honoree’s names will be displayed at the Town Center clock tower to conclude the Pink Out event. The luminaries can be bought for $5 at Salem Regional’s Look Nook Gift Shop, either in person or by calling 330 372 7252.
