Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic Begins 40th Year
CANFIELD – Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic, CPAs and Strategic Advisors is optimistic for the future and all of the opportunities and challenges it brings as the firm marks its 40th anniversary this year.
“We look forward to continuing to develop and strengthen our relationships,” says managing principal Thomas A. O’Neil, CPA.
Highlights of 2019 include transitioning clients to SSB through the acquisitions of two local CPA firms. The acquisitions provided several opportunities to broaden the industries SSB serves, as well as allowing the firm to provide specialized services, including consulting related to mergers and acquisitions, business valuation and state and local tax issues.
“Technology has been a priority throughout our growth, allowing us to work more efficiently and effectively while maintaining strict security measures,” O’Neil says.
The firm’s growth continues through a newly added division, SSB Managed Wealth LLC, which offers financial planning and investing services, he says. Other areas of growth include the litigation team working to provide forensic accounting services for cases involving fraud.
“A rather fun area of growth deals with our brewery consulting team,” O’Neil says. That team has “tapped” into a fast-developing niche of the independent brewery industry.
With the addition of five accountants and two administrative team members, SSB is poised to head into another tax season. In addition, the firm has two accounting interns on board from Youngstown State University.
SSB staff members participate as volunteers, serve on boards and provide services to many organizations. Among them are the Better Business Bureau, Salem Regional Medical Center, Stambaugh Auditorium, Youngstown Symphony Foundation, Sight for All United and the Salem Chamber of Commerce.
