Score Youngstown Presents Women in Entrepreneurship

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Three area women entrepreneurs will present this year’s Women in Entrepreneurship event, hosted by the Youngstown branch of Score on Nov. 4.

The live and virtual event will include presentations by Ellie Platt, owner and president of Platt Insurance; Britney Thornton, owner of Nails By Binq; and Bergen Giordani, owner of One Hot Cookie and OH Donut Co.

The event is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Nov. 4 and will be presented live at Window World of Youngstown, 8070 Southern Blvd. The event is also available via Zoom by clicking HERE. The meeting ID is 977 7099 5512, and the password is 930468.

Platt Insurance will celebrate 10 years in business next year. Before starting her own agency, Platt worked in marketing, events and fundraising for Meridian Healthcare. Platt Insurance serves customers in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, offering home, auto, business, life, Medicare and farm insurance services.

Robinson is the owner of Nails By Binq nail salon and has been a licensed master nail technician for 15 years. In 2018, she completed the Youngstown Business Incubator’s WE Create Women’s Entrepreneurship Program, and this year she won the Nail Tech of the Year award from the Black Spa Professionals.

Giordani has 20 years of marketing and special event planning experience. In 2013, she opened the first One Hot Cookie location downtown, and it has since expanded into a multiunit operation. In 2019, she started OH Donut Co. with her daughter, Morgen, to fill a void in the gourmet donut market in the area. In addition to overseeing operations at both of these, she has a business that provides marketing and fundraising services to the Canfield Fair.
