Scrappers Play State College in Tonight’s Home Opener
NILES, Ohio — The Mahoning Valley Scrappers begin their home portion of the 2021 season tonight against the State College Spikes, starting at 7:05 p.m., at Eastwood Field. The 2021 season is sponsored by Lordstown Motors.
The Scrappers are 2-0 after sweeping the West Virginia Black Bears by scores of 8-1 in Monday’s season opener and 7-1 on Tuesday. Tonight’s contest starts a two-game series against State College, followed by a three-game set versus the Frederick Keys starting on Friday.
Fireworks follow tonight’s game, which is Military Appreciation Night.
Mahoning Valley is part of the six-team MLB Draft League with State College, Frederick, Williamsport Crosscutters, Trenton Thunder and West Virginia. Each team plays 34 home and 34 away games.
