Sheely’s Raises $10,979 for Project MKC
NORTH LIMA, Ohio – Sheely’s Furniture and Appliance has donated $10,979 to Project MKC, with the funds supporting the nonprofit’s mission to support children in the area.
The fundraising event was held in December at Sheely’s North Lima and Aurora sites, with the furniture and appliance retailer matching donations.
“Sheely’s prides itself on partnering with our customers and employees when choosing which causes and organizations to support for our quarterly campaigns,” said owner Jessica Smith in a statement. “Particularly through the challenges our community faced in 2020, we felt that Project MKC was a truly deserving choice. We are proud to work with an organization so dedicated to helping children in need within our community.”
Founded in 2010, Project MKC provides diapers, clothing, toys and other necessities to families in need. The nonprofit also creates “hope totes,” given to children undergoing chemotherapy at Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley, and hosts after-school tutoring, a summer lunch program and an adopt-a-school program.
