Skeggs Series Features ‘Hamilton’ Actor Jan. 29

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — One of the stars of the Broadway musical “Hamilton” is joining the Skeggs lecture series on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Bryan Terrell Clark, who stars as George Washington in “Hamilton,” will present “Finding Your Purpose: From Baltimore to Broadway’s ‘Hamilton’ ” at 3 p.m. on Jan. 29 in Ford Theater in Bliss Hall at YSU. The lecture is free, but seating is limited to first come, first serve.

Clark, a native of Baltimore, graduated from the Yale School of Drama and Temple University. The actor and singer made his Broadway debut playing Marvin Gaye in “Motown: The Musical,” which received a 2014 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album. He’s also appeared on Netflix’s “When They See Us,” OWN’s “Queen Sugar,” and CBS’s “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Blue Bloods,” “Person of Interest,” “Unforgettable,” “CSI: NY” and “The Unit.”

He is the cofounder of inDEFINED, an initiative launched in 2017 that inspires and teaches young people to use their voices to erase constrictive labels in society. The online apparel brand raises money for various charities and philanthropic organizations and supports arts education for at-risk youth.
