Sparkle Named ‘Retailer of the Year’ by Cleveland Food Dealers
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown-based Sparkle Markets was named the 2018 Retailer of the Year by the Cleveland Food Dealers Association for their success and achievements in the grocery industry.
Sparkle Markets was presented the award on March 24 at the Cleveland Food Dealers Association’s annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet.
This event is the largest of its kind in Ohio and is an opportunity to honor one retailer in Ohio for their accomplishments in the food industry, as well as their dedication to the associates, customers and communities they serve.
Vincent Furrie Jr., president of the Sparkle board of directors, accepted the award on behalf of the 18 Sparkle stores.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for our hard work and dedication in the grocery industry and our community,” Furrie said. “Sparkle Markets has been in the Youngstown-area for almost 60 years and was started by many first-generation Americans whose stores are still family-owned and serving the communities they’ve been a part of for years.”
There are 18 locally owned and operated Sparkle Markets in Northeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
