Spruce Decor Opens in Boardman

NILES, Ohio — Spruce Home Décor & Gift marked 2019 with the opening of its second store in Boardman. The new store, which joined its longtime store here, debuted in April and led to the company seeing its best year-since Spruce opened in 2014.

“The home décor industry continues to grow in record numbers,” says Nick Giancola, who owns the shop with his sister, Erica Lewis.

“Today’s home and gift industry serves an incredibly broad range of consumers, all of them wanting unique shopping experiences,” Lewis adds. “We keep this in mind when choosing products to offer.”

Other changes in 2019 included the addition of three employees at the Boardman store.

The co-owners expect another year of growth in 2020 resulting from behind-the-scenes work. They plan to increase the business from within and focus on the internal systems of their operation.

“Taking this year to focus in these areas will allow us to continue to grow the business in years to come,” Lewis says.
