YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – There are so many reasons whyPotential Development School for Students with Autism is truly a great place to work. But what comes to mind before everything else is the effort that is made to ensure that staff feels appreciated and valued.
With the nationwide worker shortage, it would be easy for recruitment to take a front seat to retainment. Yet Potential Development strives to maintain a culture of teacher support and appreciation that is on-going and sincere. Most importantly, it is not limited to an event or a day on the calendar.
Potential Development is home to a recognition-rich environment that includes more traditional benefits as well as staff breakfasts, lunches, room service and monthly goodies, to more creative approaches like the Pat on the Back Program and the Bill Roux Scholarship.
The Pat on the Back incentive allows staff to be recognized for going above and beyond and that praise is shared on an internal media system for all to see. Nominated staff are then eligible to win gift cards as a thank you for their efforts.
Funds raised through The Bill Roux Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing are invested in the education of Potential Development teachers by providing financial reimbursement for staff wishing to pursue educational opportunities in special education.
These are just a few of the many ways Potential Development works to acknowledge the incredible work of our staff.
Potential Development never forgets that the success of the school and our students is due to the dedicated staff that make a difference every day in the lives of students with autism. They are committed, innovative, work tirelessly to meet the unique needs of their students and make the world a better place.
