Steel Valley Conference Announces Basketball Postseason Honors

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Steel Valley Conference’s all-conference basketball teams have been announced, and the Youngstown Chaney High School boys and Cardinal Mooney High School girls basketball teams have been honored as league champions.

Both teams finished with a 12-7 record and were undefeated in conference play.

Chaney’s Sharrod Taylor and Cam Lawrence, Youngstown East’s Jonathan Clay, Cardinal Mooney’s Michael Pelini and Ursuline’s Terrance Pankey were on the boys first team.

Chaney’s Quincy Jones and Clive Wilson, East’s Ramir Bledsoe, Mooney’s Thomas Fire and Ursuline’s Brady Shannon took second-team honors.

East’s Brianna Thompson, Mooney’s Katie Hough and Gia Diorio, along with Ursuline’s Anisah Moorman and Cara McNally were on the girls first team.

Chaney’s Cazhia Jackson, East’s Samair Colon, Mooney’s Alaina Scavina and Gia DiVincenzo and Ursuline’s Alayna Smith took second-team honors.
