Post Office COO to Speak March 15 at PCC Expo

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Steel Valley Postal Customer Council is holding an “Evolution of Direct Mail” expo that features industry leaders speaking on new technologies being used by the U.S. Postal Service and how to better use mail in one’s business.

“There’s a lot more going on with mail than ever before,” said Paul Mahin, industry co-chairman of the Steel Valley PCC board. “From changes with the barcode, to special offers, mixing digital marketing with direct mail, and Informed Delivery.”

The expo runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 15 at the Youngstown Country Club. It includes breakfast and lunch and will provide networking opportunities for businesses and mail service providers.

The keynote speaker is Dave Williams, chief operating officer and executive vice president of the U.S. Postal Service. Williams has responsibility for the day-to-day activities of 488,000 career employees working in more than 31,000 facilities supported by a fleet of over 200,000 vehicles. He is responsible for post offices, delivery and retail operations, facilities and the mail processing network.

Williams will update attendees on where the post office stands to its commitment to direct mail, and new technologies.

“It’s a unique opportunity for the people from Youngstown to get information directly by someone from Washington, D.C., and learn more about direct mail, and mailing technologies that will improve their businesses,” Mahin adds.

Other speakers include: Joshua Colin, eastern area vice president of the U.S. Postal Service; Pat Palombo, director office of development for the Diocese of Youngstown; Amy Lowry, marketing and creative director of Lucky Dhoes; Mark Daddario, senior sales executive of the U.S. Postal Service; Erv Drewek, manager of postal affairs publishing and print management; and Gary Seitz, vice president of CTrac.

The expo will end with the presentation of the George Kolesar Award. The award will be given to a person who is active in the Steel Valley Postal Customer Council and whose company demonstrates cooperative and dedicated relationships with the U.S. Postal Service.

The cost to attend the expo is $45. Tickets can be purchased at SteelValleyPCC.com.
