Submissions Sought for New Castle YMCA Mural

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Arts & Education at the Hoyt is accepting proposals for a new mural on a wall at the YMCA in downtown New Castle through April 1. The mural will be unveiled Sept. 8 during the annual Arts on the Riverwalk festival.

Proposals must include a cover letter, resume, concept drawings, work samples, bid amount and references. They can be submitted to Hoyt Executive Director Kimberly Koller-Jones at 124 E. Leasure Ave. New Castle, Pa., 16101. Complete guidelines can be found here.

The mural should build on the YMCA’s tenets of healthy living – nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction and fun – as well as Lawrence County’s recreation offerings.

The project has a maximum budget of $15,000 and artists are responsible for site preparation, supplies, travel expenses and other associated costs. Lodging may be provided at the Hoyt’s guest house.
