TBEIC, VAST Will Recognize Engineers April 3
WARREN, Ohio – The Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center in partnership with the Valley Alliance for Science & Technology will host the second annual Mahoning Valley Engineer of the Year Awards April 3.
The awards ceremony is part of TBEIC and VAST’s commemoration of Global Engineer Day. The two organizations yesterday announced the finalists for the awards:
- Engineers of the Year – Gordon Brunson, Johnson Matthey; Nike Keffer, Butech Bliss; Chris Kogeliik, CT Consutants; Ryan Mercer, Butech Bliss; Mark Peters, Fireline; Peter Verostko, J.M. Verostko.
- Young Professional Engineers of the Year – Adam Bondor, J.M. Verostko; Nick Boyer, Starr Manufacturing; Daniel Dodge, Butech Bliss; Stephen Preston, MS Consultants; Ashley Totin, America Makes.
- Distinguished Female Engineer of the Year – Ashley totin, America makes; Rachel Lindesmith, FirstEnergy.
- Community Impact Engineer of the Year – Randy Partika, WesternReserve Port Authority; Joe Verostko, J.M. Verostk.
Dr. Helen Muga, program director and assistant professor of engineering at Baldwin Wallace University, will be the keynote speaker at the awards dinner. Muga, who started a water treatment business with students and is an expert in water and wastewater treatment and renewable energy, will discuss entrepreneurial training within engineering programs in higher education.
Free workshops on the Internet of Things and additive manufacturing will take place from 2 to 5 p.m.
A social hour will begin at 5 p.m. at TBEIC in downtown Warren, followed by dinner and the awards program at 6 p.m. Tickets are available here. The deadline to register is Monday.
