Team NEO Honors Moliterno as a Champion for Regional Economic Development Advancement
CLEVELAND, Ohio – John Moliterno, the former executive director of the Western Reserve Port Authority, was among three recognized last week as a 2022 Regional Economic Development Champion.
Moliterno was one of three leaders lauded by Team NEO for their dedication in advancing the economic development of the Northeast Ohio Region by leveraging the full strength of the region’s network.
“Our 2022 Champions have been some of our most influential leaders,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “They are strong advocates for Northeast Ohio Region. Each has brought a vision and commitment to advance economic growth and prosperity for our region.”
Moliterno, the first president of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, was touted as a pioneer in understanding and adopting the regional spirit needed to capitalize on growth opportunities in the Mahoning Valley. Additionally, Team NEO cited his work building trust and collaboration among elected officials and businesses and his commitment to JobsOhio and improving the Mahoning Valley’s inventory of readily marketable sites.
Team NEO also recogonized Jodi Berg, a retired fourth-generation CEO and president with Vitamix, as well as chairwoman emeritus on the Team NEO board of directors, and Alex Johnson, president emeritus of Cuyahoga Community College.
The awards were presented at the Team NEO annual meeting – NEO Rising: Celebrating Today. Building Tomorrow. Team NEO is a nonprofit organization dedicated to economic development, conducting research, marketing the area and accelerating business growth and job creation in the 18-county region.
