TEMA Roofing Builds from the Ground Up
By Tom Froelich, President
GIRARD – TEMA Roofing Services is a commercial and industrial roofing contractor focused on quality and founded by family. Our primary market is private design-build roofing solutions for building owners.
TEMA is also committed to supporting our local general contractors in the completion of new construction projects.
In 2011, I sold my business, Roth Bros. Inc. of Austintown, to Sodexo and started TEMA Roofing Services with my wife and four sons. It continues to be a very rewarding experience.
In five short years, we’ve built our business, which makes its headquarters in Girard, to over $7 million in new business. We employ 38 office and field employees.
As a participating member of the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, we create opportunities for men and women to find employment in the building trades. In 2019, the Builders Association held an expo at Canfield Fairgrounds where more than 4,000 high school students explored opportunities at local building trades unions and companies.
TEMA has experienced over 100% growth in field employees between 2018 and 2019; our company is on pace to have employment growth of another 100% between 2019 and 2020.
This growth will be supported by our outreach through the Builders Association and our work with local schools and trade associations.
Skilled manpower continues to be a challenge for our growth and we are always looking for ways to meet this demand. To that end, we have committed ourselves to training in roofing technologies, safety and good customer relationships.
Scott Froelich, our vice president of marketing and sales, took over as second vice president of the Builders Association and is also the group’s newly elected marketing director.
The roofing industry is dealing with rapid change on several fronts: products offered, environmental regulations and building code revisions.
As a member of the Ohio Roofing Contractors Association and National Roofing Contractors Association, TEMA is committed to staying at the forefront of these challenges by attending conferences and regional meetings, and continued education.
