TMHA Achieves ‘High Performer’ Status from HUD

WARREN, Ohio – The Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority has achieved “high performer” status from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the top rating in overall categories from financial health, management and physical condition.

“We have been working extremely hard to achieve this goal for years,” said Donald W. Emerson Jr., TMHA executive director. “It means that our housing authority is being well managed in all phases of its operations despite declining financial resources. We are thrilled to finally reach the top.”

The annual report from HUD, known as the Public Housing Assessment System, represents an in-depth look at all aspects of a housing authority, including the physical condition of housing developments, management systems, occupancy rates, rent collections and accounts payable, financial condition and systems, and capital fund program.

Emerson gave credit to staff, which has worked diligently to ensure that every aspect of TMHA is operating smoothly. “I can’t say enough about how they have all come together as a unit to make this possible,” he said. “It speaks directly to their dedication to our mission.”

The Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority is the provider of safe, secure, modern, public housing in Trumbull County to low-income families.
