Toy, Book Drives Begin for Akron Children’s Hospital
BOARDMAN, Ohio – With the holiday season in gear, three area retailers have begun their annual toy and book drives for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, the hospital announced Wednesday.
Youngstown Cycle Supply, 6915 Market St., is collecting books and toys for its fifth annual “Brighten Up for the Kids” drive through Dec. 22. Last year, more than 2,000 toys were collected and donated.
In the Eastwood Mall, Books-A-Million is collecting books until Dec. 19. While part of a nationwide campaign, all books donated at the Niles store will be donated to the two pediatric offices in Warren of Akron Children’s Hospital.
Toys can also be donated at The Skate Zone Fun Center, 5420 Mahoning Ave., until Dec. 18, the hospital announced. New, unopened toys can be dropped off during business hours.
